TVP Intermission 13: You Can’t Fight an Enemy Who Has Outposts in Your Head

On this episode of The Vonu Podcast, Jason and Shane dive back into VonuLife, March 1973 to examine two more philosophical articles authored by Rayo, though the “action” remains. The first is, “What is Big Brother Watching?” and the second is “Rooting Out the Outposts.”

What is Big Brother Watching? by Rayo (VONULIFE, March 1973)

Rooting Out the Outposts by Rayo (VONULIFE, March 1973)

In the first , Rayo takes a look at the spying technologies of the State in 1973, as well as ways to avoid them–they are drastically outdated, but the always-interesting philosophical explanations and examples remain.

In the second article, Rayo begins with a fantastic quote by Sally Kempton, a journalist for both Esquire and the New York Times in the 1970s: “You can’t fight an enemy who has outposts in your head,” or, in other words, it’s quite difficult to pursue vonu and/or freedom while still being a controlled schizophrenic.

That theme continues for the entirety of the article and the discussion, wherein Rayo does what so many anarchists do today: retort common statist fallacies.
