PS- have fun defending yourself against robbers, rapists, and thieves. But, most importantly we know we can coerce you more since we have successfully disarmed the majority of the population.
So let’s assume that you are able to easily obtain a good selection of firearms for your protection, black market, white market or otherwise, which one should you choose? Like any tool there are different types of firearms for different purposes, so I would say, select your first firearm based on what you think you will use it for the most. In later parts, I will cover if building, ghost gunning, or outright purchase is the best and what’s the best way to do each. Also, I will be covering ammo types in later sections, since it merits an entire section on its own. For now, let’s cover a few of my favorite firearms and why I think they would be a good buy.
Home Defense
You will need something to defend your life, your family’s life, and property in the event of a home invasion. As an aside, several geographic areas of the USSA are more lenient than others on the “Castle Doctrine” (see States that have stand your ground laws). Obviously, this doesn’t apply to countries where there is a magic piece of paper decreeing that you can’t have a gun, but for readers in the USSA this is pretty useful.
The State is Against You – A Word about Coercion
Please also note that the State is not on your side. I sincerely hope that I would never have to be put in a situation like this. I would do what is necessary to defend myself, but despite these so-called stand your ground laws, I am prepared that the State will always treat you like a criminal. You’ll be kidnapped and then be forced to prove that you’re not a murderer. And, god forbid, if you have any plants in your house or like to smoke plants you’ll be locked in a cage for years.
Ironically, if the situation is reversed and it was, say, a member of a SWAT team accidentally kills a citizen(s) in a no knock raid most are treated as innocent. See Texas vs. Marvin Guy.

I also recently watched the documentary Peace Officer which also covers this issue regarding police militarization and excessive use of force. Peace Officer is a documentary about the increasingly militarized state of American police as told through the story of “Dub” Lawrence, a former sheriff who established and trained his rural state’s first SWAT team only to see that same unit kill his son-in-law in a controversial standoff 30 years later. I am sympathetic to all the victims of police portrayed in this documentary.
Firearms for Self Defense
As a Vonuan, it was pretty important that we covered the coercion part first, how you are most vulnerable to the state’s monopoly of violence and how the cards are ultimately stacked against you should you find yourself in a situation where the bludgies will ultimately arrive and treat you–the peasant–as a common criminal. It’s important that we as Vonuans learn how to defend ourselves while still staying off the bludgies’ radar as much as humanly possible. This means concealment, use of homemade weapons (3-D printing, ghost-gunning, etc.), private purchase and sale, and not drawing attention to yourself (“grey man”). A good–but extreme–example would be, you roll by the local police station with a souped-up hotrod blaring music, smoking a J, and waving an AR around. The opposite scenario (a more VONU approach) would be spending much of your time in rural areas, concealing your firearms, taking advantage of legal interstices (e.g. “Castle Doctrine”, “CCW permission cards”, checking local laws for loopholes, private sales).
NOTE: The below section is geared towards the Vonuan novice gun buyer, someone that is not that familiar with weapons systems, but still feels that owning a firearm is both his/her right as a free person and necessary as a means of self-defense to protect one’s self and one’s loved ones. If you are a firearms expert feel free to skip the sections that follow. Also, note that the selections are based on personal opinion and my experience with them.
With this being said, let’s get into some of the minutiae, preferred firearms for home defense.
Handguns
Springfield XD(m) .40 / 9 / .45 Series

The Springfield XD is dependable, it’s comfortable, and depending on the caliber has the stopping power you need for this type of situation. An intruder breaks into your house at night and is intent on harming you and will not stop. You will need something to stop them. Based on what I have tried on the range and in training, I would go with a full size .40 or .45 ACP for home defence. This is going to run you about $600 – $700.

The G22 is a dependable and reliable tool for home defense. Most I have talked to have said it has never jammed on them, it’s easy to take apart and clean, and easy to use. It’s also one of the few weapons that don’t have a safety (why is this a good thing, because safeties are just another impediment that hinders your ability to react in a situation where even milliseconds count). I would also recommend a full size .40 or .45.
Rifles

I will admit, I don’t have much experience with shotguns, but I should. I think that for home defence if you can afford the huge sticker price ($2,000 – $3,000) this should be a weapon you should add to your list. One main reason is if you use buckshot (as opposed to slugs) you have a lot less risk of rounds going through your walls and hitting your neighbors, assuming you live in a populated area. Not to mention, the stopping power of a shotgun hands down trumps anything similar. Plus, it could be a dual purpose weapon for you if you need to hunt. Benelli is like the Mercedes of shotguns, so you could probably find a cheaper option if you are on a budget. Just be aware of what’s out there and do your research. Why cheap out on something that’s going to need to work when you need it to most?
AR-15 (Armalite Rifle Model 15)
AKA: The weapon made famous by state-run media sensationalizing extremely rare events in order to perpetuate the gun confiscation narrative.

Doesn’t it look so scary and evil? Oh god, I think I even got PTSD from looking at the photo and videos!
Just kidding guys/gals. But seriously, this is actually one of the best tools for home defense out there. It’s tactical, it can mount flashlights and sights, it’s fairly easy to use vs. most rifles, it has a large capacity for rounds (depending on which geographical State dictated land boundary you live in. For example, the Communist State of California only allows a 10 round magazine, and the magazine must be bolted in so it can’t be easily changed).
To this point, there are a lot of crazy legal decrees out there by rulers that have never operated or owned a firearm (they have private security forces that take care of that, whereas, you the peasant are responsible for your own). Just be aware. Increasing invulnerability to coercive authority doesn’t involve rolling over for the masters, but knowing the grey areas of the law can help you become a better Vonuin so that these assholes will leave you the hell alone (see mean time to harassment).
Firearms for Every Day Carry
There are obviously several safe and tactical methods for carrying firearms day to day to defend yourself. Since you as the common citizen cannot handle this on your own, most rulers within the geographical region of North America have decreed that one must have a special official magic card in order to conceal your own firearm, that you yourself have the right to own, and also you owe them money for doing this as well (of course). Let’s put all of the legal bullshit aside and assume that you’d like to carry a firearm day-to-day. I would recommend a handgun from popular brands like Springfield, Glock, Sig Sauer, Ruger, and of course Smith & Wesson. I’ve always had good luck with the Smith & Wesson M&P 9MM and most recently started carrying a Glock 48 single stack 9mm. But, this will also depend on body type. If you are a female, small in stature you may want to check out a Glock 26 Sub Compact 9 (shown below). It is small, concealable, and easy to grip. Keep in mind though, the smaller you go on barrel size, the more you’re going to be sacrificing on accuracy. I would advise that you try out some different types before buying. Most local gun shops will allow you to rent firearms for an hour or so to try out.
Open Carry
This gives someone absolutely no tactical advantage when faced with a threat. The only thing this is going to do is increase your vulnerability to coercion, and probably get you locked up in a cage or pinned down in the dirt and killed by the bludge. Most of the time though in most rural areas, it’s fine to open carry, but it all comes down to situational awareness. I think in most cases if you decide to open carry your AR, you’ll have to worry most about your fellow statist slaves that will immediately call the bludgies on you when they see you carrying that big, evil, scary thing on your back.
I am a big fan of concealing weapons in cases that don’t look like rifle cases. Like, consider buying a tennis racket case, a large gym bag, a purse, messenger bag, keyboard/music case. The biggest advantage you have is that the aggressor doesn’t know you are armed.
Guns are Fun!
Believe it or not, some of us do enjoy owning firearms because they are fun to shoot! I know, I know. Anyways, In my experience, I have had a lot of fun shooting larger rifles like the AR-15, an 8mm Mauser, and of course the AK-47. I have also fired automatic machine guns such as the M240 Golf and the M249 SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon). Here are some places that I’ve been to–and recommend–that are great for shooting fully automatic weapons (machine guns):

Rent and shoot automatic weapons. Whatever you want to here the sky’s the limit, as long as you have $$$. You can even shoot a mini-gun, but it will cost you $200 for 100 rounds. God, I love Vegas.
Your Local Gun Store / Range / Club
Check listings in your area. If you live in a rural area, you can probably shoot outside if you or your neighbor have a large plot of land. Be respectful of private property. But, for those that live in urban areas and/or suburbs, it is beneficial for you to support your local gun club. Most of the time these locations will have ranges, allow you to shoot or rent firearms, and provide helpful advice. That’s not to say that some places might be total jerks or douches and try to act like know-it-alls. It just depends, I’ve found a club that I am comfortable with and that I enjoy going to. Keep in mind they are business owners and have the right to tell you what you can and can’t do on their property, especially adhering to basic firearms rules. I’ve always respected this. We have a mutual business relationship, they provide me with helpful advice and training, and I support them with my business.
